John E. Bucheit

John Bucheit concentrates in a variety of complex commercial litigation matters, including consumer fraud, copyright disputes, insurance coverage, non-competition agreements and defense of legal malpractice claims. Mr. Bucheit is also experienced in the areas of employee and labor relations, having defended clients against a variety of employment discrimination and unfair labor practice charges in both state and federal court, and before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the National Labor Relations Board, the Illinois Human Rights Commission and the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination.

Mr. Bucheit was recently trial counsel for CNA in a New York class action litigation (ten-week bench trial) pertaining to the alleged unaggregated non-products exposure for 20,000+ asbestos bodily injury claims. CNA v. Employers Ins. Co. of Wausau et al., Index No. 601037103 (Supreme Ct. of the State of New York, New York County). Mr. Bucheit is currently representing CNA in two California state court cases and one arbitration presenting similar issues.
