A bang for the buck at SV butthard: christian steinmetz is no longer coach of the club's district league team. After careful consideration, the 28-year-old decided to end his involvement with his home club with immediate effect. After peter deibenberger recently announced his departure at the end of the season, the club will have to look for a new head of training from the summer onwards."I approached those responsible to ask them to relieve me of my duties with immediate effect," says steinmetz, who found the decision very difficult. After all, the coaching job at his hometown club, to which he returned from wurzburger FV in july 2017 and promptly achieved promotion to the district league in his debut season, was a matter of the heart for the native of gaurettersheim. Also the relationship to his players was not a pure player-coach relationship, but rather a friendly one.
However, the 28-year-old has now had to pay tribute to a career change. For some time now, the trained wholesale merchant has been working in a managerial capacity for an agricultural company in kiel. "I am very involved there and only rarely in butthard. So it was a longer process that the club also knew about," steinmetz, who informed the team last saturday. Also he will no longer be available as a player for the blau-weiben.
Peter deibenberger, who will be in charge of FV thungersheim in the coming season, will assume sole sporting responsibility until the end of the season and will be assisted by mario zipf, the reserve team manager. "It is a great pity that christian retires, because the team plays very successfully. Nevertheless, the reasons are understandable," says department head albin kemmer, regretting the surprising withdrawal. The functionary, who is currently looking for a coach, assumes that this change will not affect the performance of the team. After all, the squad is almost complete at the moment.
